Toby Smith Leaves Jamiroquai
Jamiroquai’s official site reports keyboardist and long time collaborator Toby Smith is bowing out of the band to spend more time with his family. Smith, who has a young daughter, has decided to take time out from the constant touring that has seen him away from home for much of the last few years. Frontman Jay Kay said, “It is sad to see him go but I totally understand the commitment Toby feels for his family and the strains of being away from home for long periods. I wish him all the best.”
Jay Kay Is ‘Furious’ After Getting Head-Butted
Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay fumed to The Mirror following his bust-up with a photographer after he left the Light Bar at the St Martin’s Lane Hotel in London, leaving him with a bloody nose from a head butt. “He was an animal,” Jay stormed. “He’s not going to get away with it. I’m going to take action. I’ve already given the police a full statement about what happened. I’m furious.”
Jay Kay In Another Photographer Bust-Up
Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay was involved in yet another bust up with a cameraman, this time 50 year old Alan Grisbrook, which is pictured in sequential photos headbutting Jay Kay – giving him a bleeding nose. Both parties were leveling accusations at each other, and both complained to police. The incident occurred after the singer attended the London premiere of ‘Star Wars Attack of the Clones’.

The Sun reports Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay has fallen for a new love by the name of Rebecca Ziegler. The singer fell for the Australian model when they met at a Sydney bar five weeks ago. Rebecca’s agent declared, “This is not just a fling, it’s serious.” The model sort of lucked out considering she passed the wrong phone number to Jay, only to have him track her down.

The Star spoke with Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay about his musical mission where he admitted, “I’ve always wanted to make music that keeps people happy. I’ve had my fair share of love troubles this year. As long as you reflect what happens in your lives through the lyrics, that’s fine because that’s what songs are about – putting over what happens to you and your life and hoping that people can have those same experiences themselves and get something out of it.”
