Mya checked in with her Twitter followers (@missmya) after being injured as she prepares to compete on ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Mya writes:
Went to the hospital late last night to get stitches. Deep cut from glass. Only caught 2hours of sleep but feel great. Must be adrenaline.
Nothing to worry about. Just an ugly slice on my finger-not the first time I’ve had stitches. I’ll be just fine. Thanks for the concern.
Mya spoke with Hollywire about training for next season’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and how dancing on the ABC show is different than dancing in her music choreography. She also let talked about her new mixtape ‘Beauty & The Streets Vol.1’, which will be dropping September 29th on her Planet 9 label. Watch it via YouTube below.
Mya checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@therealmya) on April 25th, talking about Operation Smile, replacing her phone, working in the studio, and her diet. The R&B singer writes:
OMG! Time has flown. I didn’t realize that I hadn’t blogged on my MySpace since the 13th. Man, I’m slacking. All Twittered out I suppose. Operation Smile went great. Incredible organization making life altering differences. Operationsmile.org – much respect! So, I recently replaced my i-phone with a BlackBerry Bold. Soooo much better. Though it was pretty peaceful phoneless for a while. I’ve been bouncing around the country and I’m finally settled back in NY for a minute. Been in the lab goin’ hard every night ’til the sun comes up. I’m in a zone like never before. Diet’s going great, but the gym just ain’t happpenin’ like it should right now, so I’ve still gotta maintain a little discipline.
Wendy Williams applauded Mya for being a whore in the music industry during her show on WBLS. “Mya, who’s like a doorknob in the industry,” Williams remarked. “Everybody’s gotten their turn, and she still can’t catch a break. It’s gotta suck when you’re real pretty and you do your thing in closed door meetings and still can’t get ahead in the Beyonce world.” Wendy said Christina Milian reminded her of Mya, before talking about reports suggesting Mya is pregnant after allegedly hooking up with Jared Najjar, the son of Billionaire Real Estate Mogul Lee Najjar. Listen to the remarks below.
Mya checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@therealmya) on Wednesday (January 14). The R&B singer and actress tells readers:
When I signed up for the entertainment biz, I realized there would be a list of pros & cons. On the positive side – pursuing my passion, touching lives, seeing the world through travel & providing for my family. On the negative side-criticism, disappointments, lies, lack of privacy, sabotage, politics, corporate slavery, litigation and never ending false rumors. That’s just the way of the majority of the world, it’s media, irrelevant gossip sites & those who feel the need to create B.S. as their jobs and existence depend on it. So to answer all of the inquiries & questions about the latest rumors that have been circulating, no… There is not & never was a “Super Head Tell All” book or sex tape. No, I did not show up to a club in Barbados in which I was falsely advertised. I was only there for a charitable speaking engagement for children. No, I am not dating any entertainers, athletes, congressmen, married men or billionaire’s son. No I am not pregnant, engaged or married. Though children are beautiful, I ain’t on that page. As boring as it seems, I am a happy, single woman, entering into another year of celibacy & working on self. You won’t find me in rehab or AA, you won’t find me in a mental institution, you won’t find me in the tabloids showing my twat. But you might find me in jail and in court for b*tch slappin’ the sh** out of somebody! So pray for your girl & that the D.C. will never come out at the wrong place & time. Thank you for the support.
Mya checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@therealmya) on Sunday (January 11), revealing her 2009 resolution. The R&B singer and actress tells readers:
Thank God for another year to grace the earth and happy new year to all of you! Hope this new year brings lots of positive change to the world. I’ve had some pretty strict resolutions for the last 2 years and have decided to challenge my self discipline once again. For a girl that loves chicken, steak, and even chitlins once a year, I’ve decided to put myself up to the ultimate test: being a vegetarian for six months in 2009. This will by far be the hardest of them all. I may even go an entire year if it’s not too painful. Wish me luck… I’m gonna need it. Now what are your resolutions?
Mya checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@therealmya) on Thursday (December 25). Mya tells readers:
Merry Christmas to you all.
May we acknowledge, honor & embody Christ & all that he stands for on this day & every day that follows. Enjoy your time with loved ones, giving, receiving, eating, reflecting & rejoicing. Those who are spending the holidays alone, in need, in bad health, in emotional turmoil, broken hearted, working, I have prayed for you all & know that you are loved & are not forgotten.
Mya checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@therealmya) on Saturday (November 8), discussing the broken foot that forced her to postpone a stint in the Broadway musical ‘Chicago’. The R&B singer tells readers:
Hello beautiful people, I hope everyone is doing wonderful & living life to the fullest. I am happy to say I have finally regained access to my page after conflict with a particular company trying to sabotage. Enough said.
Moving on, I have so much to share and am happy to say that my foot is finally recovered & I’m back in the gym training hard. You never know why things happen how or when they do, but please trust that behind every disappointment & unexpected change, lies a great blessing. With that said, I am doing incredible, feeling free, creative, self sufficient and in a place of peace & determination that I’ve never been before. I encourage you to be strong and hold on to your vision & values. It’s easy to get sucked in when trying to fit in. But realize this- it’s okay to be different. Your uniqueness is your asset not your setback.
