Ann Marie McQueen of the Ottawa Sun reviewed Remy Shand’s concert at the Tulip Festival in Ottawa on Friday (May 16). McQueen says, “Those who’ve caught Shand live are used to him blowing the roof off the place. He’s done it more than once at Barrymore’s and last summer during the SuperEx show at the Civic Centre. And if there had been a roof over Major’s Hill Park last night, it might have been gone too.”

Remy Shand Feels Strongly About Canadian Identity
Jane Stevenson of the Toronto Sun caught up with Remy Shand ahead of this Sunday’s Juno Awards at the Corel Centre in Ottawa. “It’s funny, because everything has been about the Grammys, right?” said Shand, who was up for four Grammys earlier this year but went home empty-handed. “Really, probably, the most important thing is my Canadian identity, because I feel so strongly about it. Just growing up here and not wanting to move from Canada. It’s so awesome to be able have a career here and then jump into the States and do something.”
Remy Shand Excited About Four Grammy Nods
CHFI in Toronto chatted with Remy Shand after he received four nominations for this year’s Grammy Awards. Remy talked about how he learned of the nominations from his mother, and was really shocked. Remy says his wife was freaking out on the news and already is picking out a dress to wear. MuchMusic caught up with Remy Shand and asked the singer about his multiple Grammy nominations on Tuesday. Remy says, “My mom called me and said, ‘you wouldn’t believe it, you got one Grammy nomination.’ By the end of the conversation she’s like, ‘you got four.’ It’s such a great recognition. Everyone’s first album is really their life’s work. That’s really what I consider this to be, my life’s work.”
