Alicia Keys Felt ‘Such A Pride’ After Obama Win
Alicia Keys phoned into ‘Total Request Live’ on Wednesday (November 5), reacting to the election of Barack Obama as the 44th U.S. President. “I feel an excitement. I feel like everyone you meet in the street,” Keys said. “All last night people were just honking horns, out just feeling excited about the endless possibilities of this, I just felt his sense of wow.” Keys admitted that “for a second there, there was a bit of nerves in there. What if it doesn’t happen, but when it did happen like we all knew it would, there was this sensation. I just stared at the TV, I was screaming. I was just… such a pride. A friend of mine said, ‘We’re living in Martin Luther King’s dream.” Watch the segment below.
