Bernard Zuel of The Sydney Morning Herald reviewed Alicia Keys’ new album ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys’, giving it 3 1/2 stars. Zuel writes, “The diary of Alicia Keys? I don’t think so. The impossibly talented, impossibly good-looking, impossibly successful singer-pianist is not one for revelations or even directly addressing personal issues. She’s not much into direct political or social commentary, either.” He added, “Yet there are key differences in the way Keys has brought in some modern R&B moves, banged them up the front of the album and seemingly laid down her challenge to reigning queens such as Beyonce Knowles.” Read more.
