Billboard reports Alicia Keys has signed a deal with G.P. Putnam’s Sons to pen two upcoming books, ‘Songbook’ and ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys’. The poetry/lyrics volume ‘Songbook’ will arrive in November in hardcover and next year in paperback via Berkley. ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys’ will hit shelves in hardcover in the fall of 2005, with the Berkley paperback to follow in 2006. “It isn’t everyday you are offered the opportunity to publish someone as unbelievably talented as Alicia Keys,” G.P. Putnam’s Sons president Carole Baron says in a statement. “Her story is as inspiring as it is astonishing, and we are excited to be publishing her story, in her own words.”
