Amerie Says Her Career Has Lived Up To Her Expectations
Soul Train recently caught up with Amerie and asked the singer after working hard to get to this point of her career, whether she thought it would be easier or harder than it ended up being. “Well I can definitely say that so far with my career it’s lived up to expectations,” she said. “It’s, I wouldn’t say harder than what I thought it was going to be because I knew it was going to be a struggle. I mean, it’s definitley a competitive area, but it’s fun, and it’s what I wanted to do – always. So, I think I would say it’s more than what I thought it was going to be because I enjoy it more than I thought I would. I didn’t think I would enjoy the traveling. I didn’t think I’d love to perform because at the beginning, I had such tremendous stage fright that I dreaded every show and I was just like, ‘Why, why can’t I just stay in the studio and just do pictures and videos?’ But it’s great, and I actually love life on the road too.” Soultrain.com has since removed the video.
