Phyllis Croom of the Washington Post reviewed Angie Stone’s concert at the 9:30 club on May 4th. Croom writes, “Most of her lyrics avoid the materialism and shallow personal glorification so prevalent in contemporary R&B. Instead, Stone’s fearless delivery of heart-on-sleeve messages of love and heartbreak seemed just the right recipe. The enthusiastic crowd accompanied her on nearly every chorus.” Washingtonpost.com has since removed the article.
