Brandy was in the studio at KIIS FM in Los Angeles to talk with Ryan Seacrest about her new album ‘Human’. The singer discussed her daughter Sy’rai, the personal songs on the disc, working with Timbaland and Rodney Jerkins, how her brother Ray J is doing and how she doesn’t seem him ever getting married, and the infamous car accident that took the life of Awatef Aboudihaj.
“It was just a very traumatic experience,” Brandy said of the 2006 incident. “Like something that I don’t like to think about often, but you don’t wake up that morning thinking something like that would happen, nor do you intend for something like that to happen. It’s just something that happens out of nowhere. It was just a very tough situation to go through.” Brandy said that do get through the ordeal, “I prayed a lot, and I had great people around me to hold me up and uplift my spirits, and I got through it. I don’t even think I’m all the way over it. I don’t think you can ever get over something like that, but I’m able to live my life without feeling how I felt in the beginning.”
