Alan Sculley of The Detroit News spoke with Craig David about the pressure some at Atlantic Records put on him to change the sound of ‘Born to Do It’ for a U.S. release. David said, “I think it kind of boiled down to being slightly nervous about something that might be different. There was a point at which there was a lot of talk of getting someone else to produce and doing a few (new) tracks or to get someone to maybe remix some of the tracks that we already had. I was adamant to say I thought the album is an integral part of the way I want to portray the (music), and I don’t want to change it to try and fit into a place.”
