About 600 of ’s best friends jammed into M Bar Friday night to welcome the Destiny’s Child singer back — even though she was in town for less than 48 hours. “You know, Houston has really been loyal to us (Destiny’s Child),” she told the Houston Chronicle. “We know how important it is to stay true to your hometown.” She praised Mathew Knowles, the CEO of Music World Entertainment and mastermind of Destiny’s Child, for reminding the singers of their Houston roots. For his part, Knowles said of the group’s hometown, “I’m still in Houston because I believe in this city. We have everything it takes to be a major player in the entertainment arena.”
