Even Luther Vandross Can’t Smooth This ‘Dance’

Teresa Wiltz of the Washington Post reviewed ’ 15th album, ‘Dance With My Father,’ and says the album “never quite finds its rhythm.” Wiltz said, “Even the most magnificent instrument is just a tool without worthy music. And we can’t help wishing that this instrument had richer material to play with, something that aspired to more than mild, mid-tempo grooves whipped up by studio magicians.”
