Faith Evans was on the phone this morning (Sept. 8th) with nationally syndicated radio morning host Russ Parr, describing her role in the movie ‘The Fighting Temptations.’ In it, she plays Marianne Hill, mother of Cuba Gooding Jr. and a nightclub singer that reminds him of Beyonce’s character. She described her part as “a small one, but hopefully one that will bring more opportunities to do more acting.” Faith also said that she has been recently receiving scripts for Broadway and is currently looking at 2 particular scripts, though she did not specify what plays those scripts were.
She also said that she has been working on her 4th album and has just completed building an in-home studio, which will make the recording process a lot easier. She did hint to having some contractual issues with her label . “We have a few things to work out with the label that need to be ironed out before anything can happen.” When asked whether Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs would be working with her for her next album, she hesitated before saying “I don’t see why not.. I mean, as long as he keeps doing what he does, giving me a few hit records here and there, then yeah, I don’t see why not.” She laughed and continued “We’ll probably work together for all of my albums!”
