Luther Vandross’ Recovery Remains In Doubt

Knight Ridder reports that prospects for the recovery of remain doubtful this week. Since suffering a massive stroke at home on April 16th, the singer has been in a coma in the intensive-care ward at Weill Cornell Medical College in Manhattan. “The duration of his coma and the severity of a medical condition requiring a tracheotomy would indicate it’s a rather severe stroke,” said Bryan O’Neill, the director of stroke rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, who is not involved with the case.
