Jim Farber of the New York Daily News reviewed Macy Gray’s latest effort, ‘The Trouble With Being Myself’. Farber writes, “On the singer’s third CD, nearly every sound has the exaggeration and animation of a joke. The bass delivers its funk rhythm with a mugging wink. The guitars’ wah-wah comes with a sarcastic smirk. And Gray’s voice cracks with such loony abandon it sounds like Marge Simpson doing an impersonation of Moms Mabley. It’s not easy to listen with a straight face.” The full article at nydailynews.com has since been removed or relocated.
