The New York Daily News reports that while performing at the Barbados Jazz Festival, Macy Gray started to use the word “motherfu**er” in a comic tirade about the men in her life, which raised eyebrows due to the country’s laws against profanity. After the show, law-enforcement authorities threatened to arrest her, haul her off in handcuffs to a local jail and fine her for each profanity infraction … unless she publicly apologized. “I am so sorry for what happened, and I truly apologize,” Gray said following the lecture. “My manager told me about this law, but I didn’t take him seriously. I love Barbados and I am supposed to stay here another three days. I really don’t want to do it in jail Again, I truly apologize and am truly sorry.” The full article at nydailynews.com has since been removed or relocated.
