Mary J. Blige spent Saturday on HSN, selling a staggering 50,000 bottles of her My Life Mary J. Blige Eau de Parfum, which included a clutch set. The fragrance and bag were only available on HSN for the day, costing $46.00. One dollar for each order was donated by HSN to support FFAWN’s work to empower women in their personal and professional lives. So while Mary J. banked likely a large percentage of that $2.3 million in sales for the very high profit margin product, the $50,000 HSN donated to FFAWN was the focus of her updates to her Twitter followers (@maryjblige). She writes:
I know it’s early but I’m on hsn at 10am through the rest of the day so I’m getting ready 4 that. It’s gonna be a long day.
