Moby weighed in on the controversy surrounding Lauryn Hill after her concert at the Vatican. He writes, “At a concert at the Vatican Lauryn Hill criticized religious leaders for not doing more to prevent pedophilia. And apparently the clergy were very upset with her. Well, it does seem as if the appropriate response would have been for the clergy to humbly say, ‘She’s right, children were sexually abused by priests and this is a horrifying sin for which we will probably never be able to atone’. Apparently some of the religious leaders walked out in protest, which doesn’t exactly seem like a particularly humble and compassionate approach to criticism that is in many ways deserved and justified.”
