Variety reports Blackground Records has signed a new distribution deal with Universal Records after leaving her prior label, Virgin Records. This opens the way for a new Aaliyah album featuring unreleased tracks from the singer who was tragically killed in a plane crash on August 25. The deal reportedly will also cover an upcoming release from R&B singer Tank, whose Timbaland & Magoo-produced album “Indecent Proposal” recently entered the U.S. charts at #29.
