Gene Stout of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reviewed Ashanti’s show at the Evergreen State Fair grandstand on Friday night, where the singer confused the country town of Monroe for Seattle several times. Her main set barely lasted 20 minutes before what Stout described was “one of the more awkwardly staged encores in recent memory,” with several people filing out not knowing the singer wanted to keep performing. “Seattle, you got so much love,” she said. “Can I come back?” Stout answered, “Affirmative.
