R. Kelly Found Not Guilty On All 14 Counts In Child Porn Case

The Associated Press reports R. Kelly has been found not guilty on all 14 counts in the R&B singer’s child pornography trial. The 41-year-old had faced 15 years in prison if convicted, but prosecutors were unable to convince the jurors that the videotape was Kelly, and/or that the alleged victim was an underaged female prosecutors contended she was. Three relatives of the alleged victim testified they did not recognize her as the female on the tape during the trial. Many legal observers believed it to be difficult to convict a celebrity like Kelly in his hometown of Chicago. Of the 12 jurors who deliberated less than a day, nine were men and three were women; eight were white and four were black. Read more.
