More than 1,000 teenagers waiting for an autograph signing session with the teen R&B band B2K swarmed a Concord, California Sam Goody record store. The crowd was much bigger than the few hundred anticipated and prompted authorities to briefly shut down the Sun Valley Mall the store is located in. A spokesperson said no one was hurt, but two girls were treated at the scene for hyperventilation. Police Lt. Keith Whitaker said the crowd was “overwhelmingly cooperative” adding, “It was a relief.”
