Concert promoter Morris Roda tells The Star Ashanti’s family had been disappointed at the behavior of the mother of the teenage male who was drunk and got into an accident that resulted in the death of Ashanti’s cousin Quinshae Snead. “The mother, regardless of how much damage her son had caused to people’s lives, did not seem to care about the death at all,” Roda said. “She was more interested in the release of her son and was shouting and screaming at the police station. She had ignored Ashanti and her family, who were there.” Read more.
The Associated Press reports Ashanti pulled out of a concert over the weekend in Johannesburg after her cousin Quinshae Snead was killed by a 17-year-old drunken driver, authorities said. 20-year-old Snead was on her way to Ashanti’s hotel to fetch something for the singer when the accident occurred.
