Diana Ross Discusses Her Father’s Death

Diana Ross, one of the five celebrities being recognized for their lifetime contributions to American culture at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, DC, spoke with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ about the honor and the death of her father Fred Ross. “He could have been sitting her sitting behind me,” Diana said. “We’ve been so busy. We’ve had a strange time without a chance to really grieve. But maybe we’ll stop after this and have a chance to do that.”

Diana Ross’ Father Fred Dies

PerezHilton.com hears, and ‘Access Hollywood’ has since confirmed, that Diana Ross performed her Gibson Amphitheater show in Los Angeles on Tuesday night hours after the death of her father Fred Ross. “It was very touching,” a concertgoer said afterwards. “Diana was close to tears throughout the show and at one point brought out her entire family on stage in celebration of her dad.” Ross told the crowd she was flying to Detroit after the concert to attend the funeral. Fred Ross was believed to be 87.
