Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart, the two women who make up the duo Floetry, are currently on tour with Erykah Badu and, according to Stewart, there isn’t any place they’d rather be. “This is the most relaxing part of what we do,” the MC/songwriter tells React Magazine. “Get on the bus, you have your bunk, you sleep, play PS2, get out to do your sound check, then get on stage. It’s the most relaxing fun part of everything in this industry.” Read more.

Marsha and Natalie of Floetry told Radio 1 what it meant for them to have their debut album ‘Floetic’ nominated for the 2003 Mercury Music Prize, which ended up going to rapper Dizzee Rascal. “Some more people know our name. That’s it – and all of a sudden our record company over here knows who we are!,” they explained. “It means that we’ve really worked hard, and it’s not just a figment of our imagination – someone else actually agrees! It’s not stopping here – it’s a stepping stone.”
The Source reports Floetry have collaborated with Mos Def for their new single ‘This is a Love Song.’ Natalie Stewart told The Source Magazine Radio Network about the premise behind the song, “It’s sarcastic,” she said. “It has to do with the fact
that with our first album they pushed mostly our ballads on record so we’re just
having some fun with that.”
