An exclusive look into the radio-winner only Backstage Breakfast with Ne-Yo that broadcast on nationally syndicated morning radio show, Big Boy’s Neighborhood, has been posted at A Place For Hip Hop MySpace TV channel. The clip features interview and performance highlights. Asked if he could three finger slap a fellow artist, who would it be, Ne-Yo responded, “Yung Berg. I can’t respect a person that’s not trying to do nothing original. No disrespect to him as a person because I don’t know the dude, but from an artists standpoint, it sounds like a ripoff of what Lil Wayne did.” The clip at MySpace has since been removed.

Ne-Yo Takes A Capella Requests On Radio 1

Ne-Yo dropped by Tim Westwood’s program on Radio 1 in London, England the other evening, performing ‘So Sick’ a capella, name dropping Tim in the song, followed by ‘Because Of You’ – with a slightly kinder reference to the British DJ. Watch it via YouTube below.

Ne-Yo Semi-Autobiographical Film ‘Venice Beach’ In The Works

Ne-Yo tells he’s working on a semi-autobiographical film which he compares to Eminem’s ‘8 Mile’. “We are putting together the next [film] right now as we speak, as a matter of fact,” the 28-year-old artist revealed. “The name of the movie is ‘Venice Beach’ and basically it’s going to be my ‘8 Mile’, loosely based on [my] life, but not really.” Production for the film is set to begin “around December”, according to Ne-Yo. Ne-Yo Inspired By Leona Lewis, Coldplay… But Not K-Fed spoke with Ne-Yo in a Q&A, where the R&B singer talked about how his third album ‘Year of the Gentleman’ was inspired by UK music. Asked which UK acts were the inspiration, the 28-year-old responded, “I like Leona Lewis, she’s got an incredible voice. I’ve been working with her on her new album. I’m a huge fan of Coldplay, and of course Amy Winehouse.” Asked if there were any artist he wouldn’t work with, Ne-Yo made a safe selection. “Kevin Federline asked me to do some stuff with him,” prompting an “Oh dear” from the reporter. “Exactly. That’s not my kind of thing.”
