Labelle Release First Album Since 1976, ‘Back To Now’

Labelle, featuring Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash, released their first album in over thirty years with ‘Back to Now’ on October 21st on Verve, Universal. The trio got all-star production help on the album from Lenny Kravitz, Wyclef Jean and Gamble & Huff. ‘Roll Out’ is the first single, a song that features Wyclef. A notable track on the album is called ‘Dear Rosa’, a tribute to civil rights activist Rosa Parks. Check out the track listing below.

‘Entertainment Tonight’ correspondent Kevin Frazier was on hand this weekend for the United Negro College Fund’s “An Evening of Stars,” which paid tribute to Patti LaBelle. Kevin talked with Patti about her outfit and receiving the UNCF’s Award of Excellence for her longtime support of the organization. Former ‘American Idol’ and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, her fellow ‘Idol’ Fantasia and Beyonce Knowles performed at the event. Video of the interview at ETOnline.com has since been removed.

Patti LaBelle Visits ‘Today’

Patti LaBelle visited ‘Today’ on Wednesday (December 19) to show off her skills as a chef. The singer demonstrated how to make her fried chicken, “crazy” cabbage and potato salad. Because of her diabetes, LaBelle admitted everything she was cooking except the cabbage she couldn’t eat. ‘Clash Of The Choirs’ Comes To NBC Starting December 17th

NBC is set to air ‘Clash of the Choirs’ during a live four-night musical event. The show has tapped Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland and Blake Shelton to embark on a musical challenge as they return to their hometowns to assemble an amateur choir and prepare them to compete live in studio for the title of America’s best choir. From December 17-20, the show will feature music genres ranging from current pop hits to holiday classics and the choir hopefuls will be judged each night by viewers watching at home.
