Rihanna at the 2010 NRJ Music Awards

Rihanna tells Carson Daly she thinks that the Grammy Awards didn’t ask her to perform tonight because of the incident on the eve of last year’s awards that left her battered and bruised and her then-boyfriend Chris Brown being sought by police. “We messed up the show pretty bad last year, so they’re probably a little mad at me right now,” RiRi speculated. Rihanna’s Boyfriend Matt Kemp Explains Ex-Girlfriend’s Restraining Order

L.A. Dodgers star Matt Kemp is doing some damage control because of the restraining order filed by a former girlfriend in 2008, which raised eyebrows since he’s now dating domestic violence victim Rihanna. Kemp’s agent Dave Stewart and a rep for his ex, Felisha Terrell, spoke with E! about the situation.

“She chose to file a complaint and shortly thereafter, on her own accord, decided to drop it based on the fact that the statements made within were false,” Stewart said of Terrell. “She has very recently said that she has no issue whatsoever with Matt and that she and Matt consider this to be a non-issue. Matt Kemp is a consummate Midwestern gentleman who has never displayed any act of violence towards a woman.” Read more.

Rihanna Says Chris Brown Had Control And Insecurity Issues

Rihanna is still talking when it comes to her relationship to Chris Brown and that fateful Grammy-eve night the ‘Crawl’ singer assaulted her.

“There were control issues, insecurity,” Rihanna tells W magazine in regards to Brown. “When people are insecure, they become very controlling and they can get very aggressive and in turn abusive. It doesn’t have to be physical. Like, they would say bad stuff to you to make you feel lesser than them, just so they would have control in the relationship. It takes a big toll on your emotions and on your everyday life. It changes you.”

As for whether Rihanna has been so willing to talk only because she’d like to hurt Chris’ career, she says, “At first, I completely shut down. But now I feel like this happened to me so I could be a voice for young girls who are going through what I went through and don’t know how to talk about it. It’s not about Chris, about hurting him or sabotaging his career. I don’t care about that part of it.”

Rihanna Shows Skin, Opens Up About Assault

Lisa DePaulo of GQ magazine spoke with Rihanna in a Q&A, probing into the assault she was a victim of by the hand of Chris Brown last February, much to the annoyance of her manager. The ‘Umbrella’ singer also posed for some strategically nude pictures, apparently to the displeasure of L.A. Reid.

Asked if she was in shock after the incident, Rihanna responded, “Initially. I would say the first… the first seventy-two hours after I realized, it hit. The entire thing was kind of a daze. I was confused. It was a little weird, but…but then, after, I was getting bored of being in the house and sittin’ around. I called Jay Brown—he’s my A&R—and I was like, ‘I want to get back to the studio. I want to get back’.”

As for the photoshoot, Rihanna confessed, “It’s very sexy, yeah. At one point L.A. Reid came into the shoot, and he was like, ‘Rihanna, put some fu**ing clothes on!’”

Rihanna Didn’t Want To Talk About Love After Chris Brown Assault
