LA Weekly caught up with The-Dream in a Q&A, asking the record producer turned R&B singer if it has been difficult to move from being a behind the scenes guy to a celebrity and subject to gossip, most notably his brief marriage with Christina Milian that resulted in their daughter Violet Madison Nash. “Mmm-hmm. I love it, though,” the 34-year-old said. “It’s great. I’d rather be the guy that doesn’t hide. I’d rather you pick holes in me. I get to be the literal face of what a man is, how he succeeds, how he fails. I’d rather be all those things than just casting a light that’s bright and shiny. That ain’t me. Who wants to be that guy, really?” Read more.

The-Dream checked in with his Twitter followers on Saturday (June 19), clarifying the comments he made to Parlour magazine about Ciara’s new album, where he was asked if it was her last shot at pop stardom. The-Dream told the mag:
I think so. You only get so many times to, and I won’t say fail, but not achieve. There’s an expectation of where Ciara should be in her career. To others, she’s achieved but not to us, because we saw where her career was headed. But now she’s back on the horse. When she first came out I, like Lil Jon and Jazze Pha, understood exactly who she was. It was that whole Atlanta vibe because if i’m not Atlanta, no one is. I knew if I had a chance to get with her creatively, there’s a specific type of swagger that she’s got. Tricky and I did her whole album, but it’s not all shallow songs like “Ride”. There’s play time but there’s substance too, it’s a great listen.
He’s now saying:
It’s sad how we take things out of context I’m sure if I was really a bad person I wouldn’t be as blessed. I work everyday to take care of Mines! I’m sure a lot of people can care less about my children be real!
I know how good I am to people! And if anyone who has met means think other wise I am sorry!
And if I said it’s Ciaras last chance it’s because we all me, Trick, and C beloved Our backs are against the wall! Hope that helps good day
Look up the word context. And also become familiar with the phrase “taken out of context” it helps
I believed in Ciara when everyone else walked away and talked shit I love her that’s my sister! Actions speak louder than words.
Everyone else may be better at sweet talking. But theres no one better at keepin it 100. I love y’all no matter what I am gods plan!
We all have to prove our selves” Ali had to prove his greatness, a pastor must prove he is righteous, after five rings Jordan had to prove he was still great, we have to prove day after day after day yesterday is not enough! One black president ain’t enough! Two either!

The-Dream checked in with his Twitter followers on Monday night (May 24) in what sounds like could be the final time he vents on the micro blogging service. The singer was upset with heavy security at his ‘Love King’ listening party earlier in the evening at Stankonia studio in Atlanta. Pictures of the event can be viewed at atlnightspots.com. The American R&B star writes:

The-Dream checked in with his Twitter followers earlier today, upset with the leaking of tracks from his upcoming album ‘Love King’ before its June 29th release date. The 31-year-old artist writes:
RKR News: “Sorry about the Leaks. I wanted to present everything in the manner it deserves but there are some who can care less.
The songs you have heard are un-mixed and un mastered versions of the actual songs. And also my albums are like books so you’re listening to them out of the greater Context of my presentation. These songs have leaked simply because of me sending them to artist for features or to Directors for treatments! The album itself is untouched because of the Segways and the way the run into each other! That’s the great part in particular! So once again Sorry on behalf of Radiokilla Records. And the people I choose to help me present a better product!
All the records you’ve heard are Ruffs and in the first stages of production! But I’m sure my Fans can tell! But you will not be Mad on 6-29
All the Blog Sites that say they Hate my Records Post them, and when I call them and say take it down they say nigga We Love Your Sh**! hmm

The-Dream went on a Twitter rant about illegal file sharing earlier today. The R&B singer, set to release his third album ‘Love King’ on June 22nd, told followers:
Call it what you want to! The only people who have something to say are the ones that usually don’t work for anything they have! If somebody stole your car you call the police, if your mother gets robbed in the parking lot she calls the police! Don’t try to act like y’all down to let someone contiinue to take from you when the people who are doing it are being directly disrespectful to what I put my hard work into.
I’m not going to kill anyone so since everybody got something to say tell me what would u do! This isn’t about people who buy they sh**. So what’s the problem, oh yeah that’s right y’all never worked for anything! So you would feel away, it’s 99 cent nigga you ain’t got a dollar, get a job buy your sh** the same way you pay the Man for gas and lights! I guess we all down with the Feds then! Buy yo sh**! Don’t steal
From me I’m running a legitimate business! As long as they taxing me 40% the Feds work for me and anybody else that pays taxes! This ain’t The Trap! This is what Apple does, this is what Coca Cola would do! Stop fakin like y’all just got money to give away cause I don’t!!
