American Idol’s Trenyce told Africana what she’s been up to in an interview with J. Danielle Daniels. She says, “Life post-American Idol hasn’t been as successful as I would’ve liked, but it’s not because I haven’t gotten any offers. I’ve had plenty of chances to sign a recording contract, long before AI and after. I just want to take my time and do this right. I’ve invested a lot of time in my singing, and I don’t want to do anything that’s not me, or something that I won’t be proud of down the line. I hope I can find a label home and producers that can put me in the right light. I don’t want to look up and resent where I am.”
