Growing up, Van Hunt tells The New York Daily News he spent long nights in back rooms with his painter/pimp dad and a revolving cast of women and players dealing with life in a dope-filled haze. But in the eyes of a child, the neo-soul performer recalls, his father led a fascinating life.
