Akon Charged In Fan Tossing Incident

The Associated Press reports police have filed several charges against Akon for tossing a teenager off the stage onto another spectator who said she suffered a concussion as a result. The incident took place at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York on June 3rd after someone had thrown an item on stage at the singer, prompting him to ask who it was and invite him on the stage to be tossed. Akon is scheduled to appear in Fishkill Town Court Monday morning for arraignment on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, and second-degree harassment. Akon is out with the video to his new single ‘Sorry, Blame It On Me’, a track featured on a re-release of his second studio album ‘Konvicted’, which will be available August 28th. The song is an apology written by Akon to Gwen Stefani, among others, after his grinding with a 14-year-old girl at a club in Trinidad during a concert led to Verizon dropping support for the No Doubt singer’s entire tour.
